Sensex began trading at 76,679.11, up from its previous close of 76,456.59. It increased by 594 points to reach an intraday high of 77,050.53, just 29 points short of its all-time high of 77,079.04, which it reached on Monday, June 10. With 19 stocks in the green, the index ended the day at 76,606.57, down 150 points, or 0.20 percent.

The top gainers in the index at the finish were Power Grid, Tech Mahindra, and Bajaj Finance shares. Conversely, the index’s biggest losers were Infosys, Hindustan Unilever, and Mahindra & Mahindra shares.

Nifty 50 reached a new all-time high of 23,441.95 during the session, having closed at 23,264.85 the previous day. It began at 23,344.45. At 23,322.95, the index finished 0.25 percent higher, or 58 points, higher, with 32 companies in the green and 18 in the red.

The Nifty 50 index’s biggest gainers at closing were shares of Coal India (up 2.78%), Power Grid (up 2.43%), and Eicher Motors (up 1.81%). In the end, the top losers in the index were shares of Mahindra & Mahindra (down 1.37 percent), Britannia (down 1.26 percent), and Hindustan Unilever (down 0.97 percent).

Overall, the market closed with mild gains, reflecting investor confidence ahead of the US Federal Reserve outcome.
