Budget 2024: Analysts Hint at Surprising Sectoral Focus

NiftyTrader • June 29, 2024

Market players are now waiting for the entire budget for the financial year 2022-23 to be unveiled by FM Nirmala Sitharaman or at least a lucky guess. The dates for the budget presentation vary and the new budget is likely to be presented after the parliament session, that is, around the third week of July as announced by the administration.

Investment analysts opine that the Indian stock market has been gradually climbing the ladder every week post-elections, and has kept a positive vibe going. The bears struck the Indian stock market for the second time at higher levels on 28 June resulting into a cut in the Sensex and Nifty 50’s four-day winning streak.

Experts Weigh In

“This week, Indian benchmark indexes saw increases in spite of conflicting signals from the international market, particularly with reference to inflation worries”.

“The underperformance of the mid- and small-cap divisions was caused by investors’ focus being primarily on large-cap firms. The private banking sector outpaced public sector banks in the banking segment, and the IT industry in particular shown a noteworthy resurgence”.

“It is expected that energy regulations would place a strong emphasis on renewable energy sources in order to reduce carbon emissions and comply with global environmental goals. Not to mention the areas of railways and defense, where more capital expenditure is prioritized. The progress of these sectors will be keenly monitored as interested parties wait to see how the budget will affect recovery plans and economic growth”, says experts.
