Nifty closed at 18562.75

NSE Nifty 50 started at low and was up by 0.27 percent. Nifty near 18570. Benchmark indices closed in green today at 18562.75.

Indian markets extended the up trend and the Nifty 50 closed at a record high, led by oil and gas stocks, except for metal, all other sectoral indices finished in the green. However, Global stocks fall on China covid unrest and oil plunges to the lowest since 2021!

Today the Bank Nifty opened in red and was up by 0.08 percent. Closed in green at 43020.45.

BSE Sensex was up by 0.34 points and closed in green at a high of 62504.80.

NIFTY NEAR ALL TIME  HIGH

Today, the advance-decline ratio was 1.43, and the market breadth was positive. The volatility index India Vix further increased 1.74 percent to settle at 13.57.

The top losers were Hindalco (-2.14%), Apollo Hospitals (-1.45%), JSW Steel (-1.39%), Tata Steel (-1.22%), and HDFC Bank (-1.06%).

The Nifty Midcap 50 was up by 0.57 percent, while the Nifty Small Cap 50 up by 1.03 percent.

The Nifty trading range for tomorrow is 18410 to 18670.
Today, weakness in the global markets caused a shaky start, but the Nifty 50 recovered and inched higher to close in green. However, US S&P 500 started trading on a weak note and may close in red today.
Markets may experience some consolidation in the near term because of mixed global cues, but the bias is positive.
