Today, NSE Nifty 50 started at low and was down by 0.31 percent and closed in red. Nifty below 18650.
The Bank Nifty also opened in red and was down by 0.45 percent closed in red at 43138.55. Similarly, the BSE Sensex was down by 0.33 points and closed in red at a low of 62626.36.
Benchmark indices fall for the third day in a row. Stocks edge lower as the risk-off sentiments prevail. There has been no follow-up after making lifetime highs, and the market is trending lower. Certainly not good news for those looking forward to the Santa Claus Rally!
However, on a positive note, FII inflows into equities reached a two-year high in November on expectations that the US Federal Reserve will slow the pace of interest rate hikes.
Today, the advance-decline ratio was 0.67, and the market breadth was negative. The volatility index India Vix increased 2.25 percent to settle at 14.04 and the FIIs were net sellers today.
